Eight years has passed since Christian went home to Manning Lake. Settled into his teaching career, he has been busy raising his niece Anna, and writing. His deceased brother Vince is still close by, doing what he can to push his brother along in life. One day everything changes, when Christian reunites with the love of his life. However, not all is what it seems.
This is the third book in the Vincent Chronicles series. Originally Running With Vince was going to be a stand alone novel, but after some time I realized I wanted to check in on Christian and his life after the original events in the first book. Likewise after the events of Swimming With Angels, I wanted to see what changed for Christian with several years passing.
With Vincent's help Christian was able to take steps in improving his living situation and he also met old faces and made new relationships. This third book focuses on the grief that is still present after losing a loved one years earlier and how we continue to experience loss in other ways. Whether talking about the end of romantic relationship, job, or living situation; these losses continue to define our lives. How we choose to overcome such losses or shift our perspective makes all the difference in our world and with others. Standing With God also uses Vincent's journey, on the other side, to show that even in death we continue to grow and impact those we love.
